Scan your ID and take a selfie
A verification provider checks that the ID is real and that it's you. We receive the result, not a copy of your ID.
Get your badge
Your card shows ID verified. You can also use a verified photo instead of an avatar.

Each check costs us money. A small fee also discourages fake and throwaway accounts.
Why it's required
Zydeby is for adults, and everyone meets in person. Confirming ages protects everyone.
Verified photos
A photo marked verified is matched to the person in the ID, and shows the date it was taken. Unverified members use an avatar.
A fresh photo, if you like
Once a year we ask if you'd like a new verified photo. It's optional, and the same $4.99 as verifying.
Questions
Is it a one-time fee?
You verify once for your account. A yearly photo refresh is optional, at the same $4.99.
Do you keep my ID?
No. The verification provider checks it, and we receive the result. See privacy.
Is this a background check?
No. It confirms your age and identity. A background check is separate and optional: a match can ask for one while deciding, and you choose whether to get it. It's $49.
