Manufacturing: matched on the machines you run and how you run a shift.
Machinists, CNC operators and programmers, welders, maintenance techs, supervisors, quality and engineering. Your checklist names the work and the machines, references confirm the depth, and you meet at the shop or for a coffee.

How it works in manufacturing
Shift and safety culture
Pace, check-ins and what you do when someone makes a mistake are matched both ways with the supervisor you'd report to. OSHA general-industry, forklift and welding cards can be listed with their numbers. Forklift certification is the employer's job under OSHA, so it's a preference, never a filter.
Apprenticeships and entry level
Employers can mark a listing entry-level and set skills to Can train. People starting out can say yes to any entry-level role, and mentoring pairs a 30-year machinist with someone in their first year.
Matched on your shifts
Days, evenings, nights or rotating; 8-, 10- or 12-hour; 2-2-3 (Pitman), continental or DuPont rotations. Say "only these" and nothing else matches. Overtime and shift differentials count when pay is compared.
Meet at the shop
A walk through the shop or a coffee nearby. One short hands-on puzzle at the table, never a scored test.
Contract machining and fabrication
Shops that take outside work answer once as a firm and match with buyers who need parts, fabrication or maintenance, on capacity, rate and track record.
Peers and circles
Plant managers and shop owners at a similar stage can join a forum circle of non-competing businesses.

Roles with detailed checklists
Each starts your skills checklist from O*NET's work activities and tools for the role. Not listed? Pick your occupation anyway; the picker covers every field.
Project and contract work. Contract machining, fabrication, assembly and maintenance work runs as project work, with capacity and rates matched before you meet. How project work runs
Questions
Do I need a certification to join?
No. An AWS welding certification, a NIMS credential or any other can be listed with its number. Employers can ask for them as a strong wish, which counts but never filters. Only a credential the law requires the worker to hold, like a state license, a CDL or EPA 608 for refrigerant work, can be a hard requirement.
Is it only for big plants?
No. Job shops, fabricators and large plants all use the same matching.
Do I need a résumé?
No. A tap-only questionnaire, your skills checklist, a few work stories and vouches do the work.
